The Power Pup Downloader for all '98-'06 full size GM vehicles with any of the following engines: 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 8.1 Liter. The Power Pup Downloader is a very simple instrument to operate. All operations take place inside the cab with the Power Pup hooked up to the OBDII port. As shown in the dyno chart below for an '03 GM, a gain of 30 hp and 50 ft-lbs torque was acheived with the Power Pup. An increase in fuel economy can also be expected, however those results will vary with each vehicle engine, conditions and driving style.

Stock Tune:
Choosing the Stock Engine Tune will result in not change to engine horsepower output, but all other downloader features are available.

Regular Tune:
The Regular Engine Tune is recommended for use with 85 or 87 octane gasoline. For maximum effectiveness it is recommend that shift firmness and shift points be increased. This tune can be used for everyday driving and towing.

Premium Tune:
The Premium Engine Tune is recommended for use with 91 or 93 octane gasoline. Again increases in shift firmness and shift points are recommended with this tune. This tune can be used for everyday driving and off highway racing.

Remember to always keep the Downloader in your vehicle after you have downloaded a power program. You may need to change the power program or check and erase DTC's. The power program must always be removed before taking the vehicle in for any kind of service, as it may interfere with diagnostic tools used by your dealer.
