On Dodge Cummins 5.9L engines equipped with the VP44 injection pump, damage can result if the pump becomes starved for fuel. This can result from:
· A plugged fuel filter
· Plugged or restricted fuel tank pick-up
· Weak or malfunctioning factory lift pump
· High demand / low fuel supply (High performance engines)
With the 'Low Fuel Pressure Alarm Light', a red LED will light if fuel pressure drops to 5 psi, giving the driver warning of a potential problem. If you have a high performance engine and are experiencing low fuel pressure problems, then ask about our high flow auxiliary lift pump kits.
