The stock turbine housing on the 1989 - 1993 Dodge Cummins 5.9L's are very slow on turbo spool up which causes turbo lag. Our 16cm Performance Turbine Housing helps decrease the turbo lag. The result is a much better “off the line power” and improved mid range performance.
The 18cm housing in the 1989-90 5.9L 6BTA Cummins is a little too large and the turbo lag can be eliminated with this 16cm housing.
The 1991-93 engines have a 20cm housing which results in significant turbo lag. By installing the non waste-gated 16cm housing, higher boost pressure and a set of performance injectors can result in up to 210 hp and 22 psi of boost pressure.
