The number one failure of the VP44 Dodge diesel fuel injection
pump is lack of fuel supply from the factory lift pump to the injection pump.
The VP44 lubricates itself with the diesel fuel running through the pump. If
your fuel pressure is lower than 5 psi while under a load, your lift pump is
not supplying enough fuel and this will cause pump failure. Owners of Dodge
vehicles equipped with the VP44 should be monitoring their fuel pressure using
a
low-pressure
alarm light or
fuel
pressure gauge. We recommend you replace your factory lift pump with one
of our
FASS
Fuel Systems. This will pro-long the life of your Dodge diesel fuel injection
pump and make your driving experience that much better. All of our Factory Certified
Dodge VP44 pumps we offer come with a 1year limited warranty.
